Our Mission is to educate the underprivileged children of our society. To give them room and time to study in a satisfying and sustainable way.

Over the years, we have faced a multitude of issues but undeterred, we have devised several solutions that help us to continue to engage more and more underprivileged children into quality education.

THE PROBLEM

Despite the pandemic forced school closure, the enrolment figure rose from 97.2% in 2018 to 98.4% in 2022.

The ASER 2022 report says that children’s basic reading ability has dropped to ‘pre 2012 levels, reversing the slow improvement achieved in the intervening years’. Children have suffered learning losses during the pandemic period.

GENDER DISPARITY IN EDUCATION.

India sees an increase in the number of girl student dropouts from class XII. Approximately 32.9% of girls drop out of school before completing their secondary education.

THE QUALITY OF LEARNING.

The value in education and learning needs a steady improvement. 32.5% of Grade 2 children cannot identify letters and ~20% of Grade 2 children cannot identify numbers between 1-9. Additionally, numerous studies show that ‘low fee private schools’ add no value to children wherein learning outcomes are concerned.

LACK OF BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE.

Many schools don’t have separate toilets for girls, which results in a considerable drop of girl students. Most students, especially girls are also intimidated by the long distance commute to the school from their homes. Government schools struggle with proper infrastructure.

SHORTAGE OF TEACHERS.

There is a growing shortage of teachers in elementary schools due to which many schools are compelled to recruit under-qualified and contractual teachers.
